What does a wedding actually cost? Not always easy to answer - first clues for the calculation of your wedding budget can be found here.
Money, money, money!
Your own wedding - a romantic topic. Somewhat less romantic, however, is the fact that love cannot be bought, but one's own wedding celebrations can. After all, service providers want to be paid in order to be able to prepare what will probably be the most beautiful day of their lives for couples in the future.
But how much exactly does a wedding actually cost?
To begin with: everything stands and falls with one's own wishes for the celebration and to make generally valid general statements about the wedding budget is almost impossible. Also, because there are rarely limits upwards - more expensive always goes. More favorably often also; only whether one receives then 100% the achievement, which one wishes oneself, is to be questioned.
Nevertheless, price corridors can be formed for many services. What is cheap, what is already in the upper price range and which service provider's fee is in the good midfield? Let's shed some light on this.

The "per capita" services
The "per capita" services
Location & Catering
Let's start right away with the most difficult position for generalizations. Depending on the location, the style and whether the event space has its own catering and service offer, anything is possible in terms of price. Only the per capita sum can give us a first clue here.
For location rent, cleaning, food, beverages and service (possibly also night surcharges), one lies in the Rhine-Main area near Frankfurt well and easily with approx. 130 - 250 EUR. A large range, yes. On average, many couples end up with about 160 - 180 EUR per head.
What many couples don't consider at the beginning: Well-known locations with a regular gastronomic offer have to compensate their "loss of sales" especially on weekends when events are closed and therefore usually estimate flat minimum sales for food and drinks.
By the way, the costs for location and catering should not exceed about 50% of the total budget in the end. This leaves enough financial resources to cover the other wishes for your own wedding.
Wedding cake
Also, the wedding cake is usually specified per head, that is, per piece. 4 - 6 per piece are still comparatively cheap here. Depending on the effort, 10 - 12 EUR per piece can also be incurred. The average is about 6 - 8 EUR. With a 80-Personen-Gesellschaft thus already once 480 - 640 EUR for the wedding cake result here, presupposed for each guest a piece one calculates. Often it is enough to calculate the cake for half of the guests. Especially if the cake is served together with the dessert.
Furniture
Not necessarily more expensive with increasing number of people, but quite possible. In the event that the location only provides a limited number of tables, chairs, tablecloths, etc., the difference must be rented for larger numbers of guests. This is also often the case with free weddings that take place outdoors. Naturally 150 renting chairs tear here a larger hole into the budget than 80 pieces. To give here a concrete cost point with to the hand, is impossible however. However, one thing is certain: anyone who has to watch their budget anyway should perhaps reflect on their guest list once again, as there is enormous potential for savings here.
Stationery (printed materials) for about 80 people
One thing in advance: you can hardly get much more individual than with stationery. Anything is possible here - from just under EUR 500 to EUR 1,200 and more. There are few upper limits, depending on whether the stationery is designed specifically for the couple, what materials are used and how many copies need to be printed. For print-only products, the number of people ends up being a small factor in the budget, but not a decisive one. However, if handmade elements come into play, a larger number of people is clearly noticeable, which is why the category of printed matter is assigned to the "per capita" services here to be on the safe side.

Photographer (8 hours)
A good photographer should not be missing on any wedding, after all, you have little left of your most beautiful day of life - your memories and your spouse excluded. The range of costs for an 8-hour wedding reportage vary greatly and move (in the Rhine-Main area) between 1,700 EUR - 3,000 EUR. The average here is about 1,800 - 2,100 EUR.
The costs are dependent naturally also on whether a photographer appears alone, or whether two photographers appear exclusively as duo.
Wedding speaker (for free ceremony)
Oh, these wedding speakers. The people who make your wedding really emotional and who give you one or two goose bumps. Here, too, you will find prices ranging from just under 1,000 EUR to 2,200 EUR (or even a little more). An essential determining factor for the individual fee: the experience of the respective speaker and the location. The good average in the Rhine-Main area is around 1,400 EUR - 1,500 EUR, exceptions downwards and upwards are always possible. A savings tip are speakers who have their first season behind them and are not yet established in the market - little experience is not always synonymous with lower quality. Especially new service providers often make a special effort to really give you the most beautiful wedding ceremony ever.
Live music for free wedding ceremony (about 3 songs)
But what would be the free wedding ceremony only without a small and fine live music interlude? Tender guitar sounds or Accoustic singing - more touching it hardly goes. For the budget this means about 400 EUR - 750 EUR on top for about 3 to 4 songs during the wedding ceremony. This may seem a lot at first glance, but the travel and the technical setup are the same - whether 3 songs are played or 10. And also here: Is it a solo artist or do you get a duo?

DJ (8 hours)
Ideally a mood maker instead of a mood killer: A good wedding DJ will respond to your wishes instead of playing a standard program - in the truest sense of the word. For the party accompaniment you should plan around 1,700 EUR - 2,500 EUR, depending on how experienced at the mixing desk the respective service provider is, whether he brings his own technology and possibly even light spots. Ask here rather once more than too little, which services are included in the price. And always important: Give the DJ a list of your hot & not songs in advance, then nothing can go wrong!
Bands tend to be more expensive and often start at 2.500 EUR upwards. Of course, bands usually come with 3 or 4 people.
Flowers and decoration
Similar to the topic of furniture, there are no reliable standard values here. Is a very simple flower decoration desired? Then you can manage the implementation with just under 1,000 EUR. Should your wedding be THE floral eye-catcher? Then you can plan up to 3,000 EUR. Also 5,000 EUR for the flower decoration come together easily. The decisive factor is what priority the floristry or other decoration has for you personally.
